A karst topical session will be held at the 2013 American Geophysical Union fall meeting this year, entitled “Recent approaches to karst hydrology.”

AGU Session H070: Karstic watersheds cover widespread areas throughout the world and are often extensively exploited for water supply. Substantial efforts have been deployed in the past decades to develop hydrological data analysis methods and modeling approaches suitable for describing the non-linear and non-stationary behavior of such heterogeneous, discontinuous media. The session seeks contributions from different fields, encouraging innovative methodologies in hydrogeophysics,  geochemistry, geostatistics, time series analysis, hydrological/hydrogeological modeling, etc. in the aim of improving knowledge on karst structure and hydrology.

We encourage you to consider submitting a presentation (oral or poster) to this session, and to share information about this session with colleagues and graduate students. Abstract submittal is now open, and electronic abstracts can be submitted until August 6.

The AGU fall meeting will be held 9-13 December in San Francisco, California. This is a magical time to be in one of the world's most beautiful cities. In addition to this session there will be at least one other topical session that focuses on karst, and we expect a good showing by the international scientific karst community. This will be an excellent opportunity to showcase your research, learn about and discuss new approaches, and network with other karst hydrologists.
