KC 50th ANIVERSARY WILL BE CELEBRATED DURING THE EUROKARST 2021 - MALAGA
Due to the COVID pandemics, conferences all over the world have been cancelled or became virtual meetings. 2020 is the year when the Karst Commission completes 50 years of existence. We had originally planned to hold a celebration during the UNESCO Karst 2020, that was scheduled to take place last May in Bowling Green, USA. We had full support from the organizers, had confirmed participation of the three honorees (Derek Ford, Petar Milanovic and Yuan Daoxian) and organized a preliminary program.
The UNESCO Karst 2020 will now be a virtual meeting (in August 2020 - see "Events" section below). Our presential celebration has then been transferred to the Eurokarst 2021 in June next year in Malaga. Full details will be announced later.

The International Congress of Speleology will be held in Savoie Mont Blanc (France) between July 25 - August 01, 2021. There will be a Symposium on hydrogeology organized by Anne Johannet, Bernard Collignon, Arnaud Malard and Alexandre Zappelli.
Deadline for submission of abstracts for this symposium (Symposium 5) is June 30. For more information please check: [https://uis2021.speleos.fr/]
VIDEO ON KARST AND WATER IN VIETNAM
Our past chairman, Nico Goldscheider, has called our attention to an interesting video (in German) that focus on karst areas, water resources and karst ecosystems in Vietnam. The water project shown at the beginning is the KaWaTech project, presented by the leader Peter Oberle (from Karlsruhe Intitute of Technology) and Dominik Richter (PhD student also from KIT). This project has been presented by Nico at the Eurokarst 2018 in Besancon.

Arguably, the most traditional karst hydrogeology meeting, the Eurokarst 2021, the European Conference on Karst Hydrogeology and Carbonate Reservoirs, will take place in Malaga, Spain, in June 22-24. This conference will be the 2021 official meeting of the Karst Commission.
