artesian flow
Flow through a confined aquifer where the elevation of the overlying aquiclude is locally depressed so that the entire aquifer is saturated and the flow is under hydrostatic pressure. Some maze cave development in cavernous limestones may be due to artesian flow, which is commonly related to synclinal fold structures [9].
